Aloe Vera... Nature's healer

Almost everything needed to heal the body is found in nature. The aloe plant is no exception. Use it for such conditions as sunburned skin or for healing stomach aches and pains. Aloe vera also provides antibacterial and antioxidant benefits. I sometimes use it as a face mask to give my skin a nice glow.


For stomach discomfort, break a stem from the plant and rinse it under cool running water. Dry off, and with a sharp knife slice the skin lengthwise, piercing just one side. Pull open the stem and scrape the aloe out with the knife. Put into blender with 1 cup of water and blend on high for one minute. Pour into glass and drink slowly. There is very little taste, but really great benefits.


For sunburned skin or skin rashes cut aloe lengthwise and pull open. Instead of scraping out the aloe rub it directly on the skin. Repeat every 4 hours the first day and then once a day until sunburn heals or rash goes away.


For radiant glowing skin rub on face and leave for 30 minutes. Rinse with cool water and apply natural moisturizer. To give your skin some extra love you can put it on before bed and leave it on all night.
